Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met chief ministers of 12 BJP-ruled states to take stock of their performance.

The meeting was held in Varanasi, the prime minister’s constituency, on the second day of his visit there.

The chief ministers of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand were in attendance, as were deputy chief ministers of Bihar and Nagaland, where the party is part of coalition governments.
The Prime Minister’s Office had said the meeting would “provide an opportunity to share governance-related best practices and is in line with the prime minister’s vision of furthering Team India spirit”, Livemint reported.
BJP president J.P. Nadda and Union Minister Bhupender Yadav were also in attendance. The BJP chief ministers are expected to visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple later on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the BJP chief ministers are expected to visit the Ram Janmabhumi site and Ram temple in Ayodhya.
