Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated KK Patel Super Speciality Hospital in Bhuj, Gujarat via video conferencing on Friday. The hospital has been built by Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Samaj, Bhuj.

Gujarat Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendrabhai Patel was among those present on the occasion.
Modi said, “The hospital is the first charitable super speciality hospital of the region which will act as a guarantee of quality medical treatment for people of Kutch along with lakhs of soldiers, par military personnel and traders.”
He added, “Hospitals are being constructed in every district. Similarly, AIIMS are being established. Medical Colleges are expanding medical education and the country is likely to get a record number of doctors in the next 10 years.”

He said two decades ago, Gujarat just had nine medical colleges, but the medical education scenario has improved vastly in the last 20 years.
“Now the state has one AIIMS and over three dozen medical colleges. Earlier, only 1,000 students used to get admission in medical colleges of Gujarat, now around 6,000 students get admission in these colleges. AIIMS in Rajkot has started admitting 50 students from 2021,” Modi said.
The PM further said, “There are nine AIIMS, more than three dozen medical colleges, up from nine colleges earlier. Medical seats have increased from 1100 to 6000. Rajkot AIIMs has gone functional, and Civil Hospital Ahmedabad is getting 1500-bed infrastructure for mother and child care.”
PM to virtually unveil Lord Hanuman statue in Morbi on Saturday
On the occasion of ‘Hanuman Jayanti’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a 108 feet statue of the lord at Morbi in Gujarat on Saturday via video conferencing, the PMO said.
This statue is the second of four statues being set up in the four directions across the country as part of the four Dham projects linked to Hanuman. This statue, which falls in the west, has been installed at the ‘ashram’ of Bapu Keshvanand in Morbi, it said.
The first statue of the series was set up in the north in Shimla in 2010. Work on the statue at Rameswaram in the south has been started, the PMO said.
