Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rozgar Mela and distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth in various Government departments and organizations via videoconferencing on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, Modi said the government is undertaking sustained efforts to expand opportunities for both employment and self-employment across sectors. He cited India’s strong economic outlook, as projected by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which has affirmed that the country will remain the fastest-growing major economy.
“The foundation of any nation’s progress and success lies in its youth, when the youth actively participate in nation-building, the nation experiences rapid development and establishes its identity on the global stage”, emphasised Modi.
“India’s youth are showcasing their immense potential to the world through their hard work and innovation”, he further highlighted, stating that the government is ensuring, at every step, that employment and self-employment opportunities for the country’s youth continue to grow. He pointed out that initiatives like Skill India, Startup India, and Digital India are creating new opportunities for the youth. Through these campaigns, the government is providing an open platform for India’s youth to showcase their talents.”
Modi noted that as a result of these efforts, in this decade, India’s youth have propelled the nation to the forefront in the fields of technology, data, and innovation. He highlighted the success of digital platforms like UPI, ONDC, and GeM (Government e-Marketplace), which demonstrate how the youth are leading transformative changes in the digital economy. He further remarked that India now leads the world in real-time digital transactions, and a significant share of this achievement is credited to the youth.
“The Manufacturing Mission announced in this budget, aims at promoting the ‘Make in India’ initiative and providing India’s youth with opportunities to create globally standardized products. This initiative will not only support millions of MSMEs and small entrepreneurs across the country but will also open up new employment opportunities nationwide”, remarked the Prime Minister, adding that this is an unprecedented time of opportunities for India’s youth. He noted that the IMF recently stated that India will remain the world’s fastest-growing economy. He emphasized that this growth has multiple facets, with the most significant being the increase in job opportunities across all sectors in the coming days.
EPFO hands over appointment letters to 976 new recruits

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, proudly participated in the 15th edition of the Rozgar Mela held today across 47 locations nationwide.
As part of this significant recruitment drive, EPFO welcomeed new recruits to strengthen its workforce, ensuring efficient delivery of social security services to millions of subscribers across India. Appointment Letters to 345 Accounts Officers/ Enforcement Officers and 631 Social Security Assistants were issued on Saturday.
The newly appointed personnel will contribute to EPFO’s mission of providing provident fund, pension, and insurance benefits, supporting the government’s vision of a robust and inclusive economy.
EPFO has established Recruitment vertical in Head Office to ensure regular recruitments and developed a recruitment calendar complying with directions of Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya.

In Ahmedabad, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Nimuben Bambhania, handed over appointment letters to 296 newly appointed employees.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of State said,”Today is the 15th edition of this Rozgar Mela initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 22 , 2022. This is an important step towards realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of creating employment. Further, this is the third Rozgar Mela within 9 months of Modi becoming the Prime Minister for the third time. Which means that the government is continuously providing employment opportunities to the youth.”
Mayor Pratibha Jain, MPs Narhari Amin, Dinesh Makwana, Hasmukh Patel, MLAs Darshanaben Vaghela, Kaushik Jain, Dinesh Kushwaha, Babu Singh Jadav, Amit Thakar, and officials of the Income Tax Department, including Aparna Agarwal and Sunil Kumar Singh were present in this program.

Appointment letters were distributed to 120 youth in the presence of Union Minister for Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs Dr. Mansukhbhai Mandaviya in Vadodara.
A grand employment fair was organized by the Central GST Commissionerate, Vadodara at the auditorium of the Federation of Gujarat Industries in Vadodara. In this fair, appointment letters were given to 120 youth.
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Cabinet Minister for Labour and Employment , Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, was the chief guest at the event and distributed appointment letters to the newly appointed youth. In his address, he said , “ Today, merit and qualification are important for getting a job. Earlier, unsystematic ways were adopted to get a job , but for the last 10 years, in developing India, employment opportunities are being provided to the youth by creating a merit-based employment system.”
He further added that the employment level in the country has been increasing significantly in the last ten years. While only 3.2 crore jobs were created between 2004 and 2014 , more than 17 crore jobs have been created in the last decade. On an average, 12 to 15 lakh new jobs are being created every month.
The program was attended by Vadodara Mayor Pinky Soni, MLA Manisha Vakil and Yogesh Patel, former MP Ranjan Bhatt, District Collector, Vadodara Municipal Commissioner and senior officers of CGST Vadodara Department.
Union Ministers issue appointment orders to 792 people in Chennai
Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar and Minister of State for Tribal Welfare Durga Das Uikey attended the Employment Fair held in Chennai and handed over appointment orders to 792 newly selected persons in various ministries and departments of the Central Government.
In Tamil Nadu, Dr. Jual Oram participated in the Rozgar Mela events at Chennai and Trichy.
Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Durgadas Uikey who spoke at the GST office in Chennai said, India is moving towards achieving self-reliance at all fronts and it was necessary to realise the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to achieve Viksit Bharat.
He said, the youth of the Nation should become active participants of nation building and make use of the opportunities given to them. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India had achieved excellence in digital technology and is bound to become the third largest economy in the World.
Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar said, the youth of the Country should think of changing their thinking from a job seeker to a job provider. He said that the youth of the Nation should dream and create a platform while working for the Government and fulfil their aspirations.
He said that India is on the cusp of greatness, with flourishing manufacturing industries scaling new heights and digital innovations are breaking barricades. He added that the youth of the Country should seize the moment and step forward with confidence and show the world what they are capable of.
