“Today we celebrate Thiruvalluvar Day, commemorating the great Tamil sage whose profound wisdom in the Thirukkural guides us in several aspects of life. His timeless teachings inspire society to focus on virtue and integrity, fostering a world of harmony and understanding,” PM Modi tweeted.
“We also reiterate our commitment to fulfilling his vision by embodying the universal values he championed,” the Prime Minister further said.
TN Governor pays tributes to Thiruvalluvar, he is a great saint of Sanatan tradition
Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi had paid tributes to saint Thiruvalluvar on the occasion of Thiruvalluvar Day on Tuesday.
In a message released from Raj Bhavan in Chennai, the Governor said -“I pay my humble tributes to the revered poet, great philosopher and brightest saint of Bharatiya Sanatan tradition, Thiruvalluvar born on the spiritual land of our Tamil Nadu. His eternal wisdom has immensely shaped and enriched the ideas and identity of our nation and remains a source of guidance and inspiration for the whole of humanity. On this pious day, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all.”

Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi has once again shared a controversial portrait of sixth century Tamil saint and poet Thiruvalluvar in saffron robes on ‘Thiruvalluvar Day’. The Governor and Dravidian leaders have previously clashed over the revered saint-poet being shown clad in saffron robes instead of the usual white.
‘Thiruvalluvar Day’ is celebrated as part of Pongal to commemorate the Tamil sage for his contributions to literature.
The Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan shared the controversial image of Thiruvalluvar donning saffron robes on social media platform X on Tuesday. Governor Ravi also offered prayers to the portrait of Thiruvalluvar in saffron robes.
Ahmedabad Tamils celebrate Thamizhar Thirunaal by garlanding Saint Thiruvalluvar statue
Sri Krishna Tamil Vidyalayam, Ahmedabad Tamil Sangam, Kakkum Karangal and Karnavati Tamil Sangam on Tuesday jointly celebrated Thamizhar Thirunaal by garlanding Saint Thiruvalluvar statue, which was unveiled a year ago by Tamil Nadu Minister Thangam Thennarasu.
Incidentally, the statue lies in the campus of Sri Krishna Tamil Vidyalayam which houses Ahmedabad Tamil Higher Secondary School in Maninagar, the Assembly constituency represented by then Gujarat Chief Minister and present Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
