PM Narendra Modi’s centenarian mother Hiraba distributed national flags to children at her residence in Gandhinagar and waved the tricolour with them, the officials said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Hiraba, who entered the 100th year of her life in June this year, on Saturday distributed national flags to children at her residence on the outskirts of Gandhinagar city in Gujarat.

Ex-Gujarat Dy CM Nitin Patel attacked by cows
Former Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel was attacked by stray cows on Saturday.
Nitin Patel suffered injuries in his left leg after a galloping cow rammed into the “Tiranga Yatra” being led by him in the Kadi town of Mehsana district of the state. He suffered a minor fracture in his left leg during the incident, the BJP leader said.
“A Tiranga Yatra had been organised at Kadi where nearly 2,000 people participated. It had completed almost 70 per cent of the distance and reached a vegetable market when a cow suddenly came running,” Patel has said.

In the commotion, he and a few others were thrown down to the ground, he added.
Incidentally, the Gujarat High Court had ordered the state government and all civic bodies to take action against stray cattle menace. Being the poll-bound state, no action was initiated by the administration on obvious grounds.
