The Sri Ranganathaswamy is a Hindu temple dedicated to Ranganatha (a form of Vishnu).
The temple is built in the Dravidian architectural style and boasts of unique distinction of being the most important of the 108 Divya Desams. Devoted to the Hindu deity Vishnu, it is one of the most illustrious Vaishnava temples in South India, rich in legend and history.
A senior official from the temple said that they had prepared an estimate of Rs 98 lakh for the restoration work of Gopuram just a few days back. Locals also claimed that they had previously complained to the temple authorities about crevices on the temple’s structures.
There are a total of 21 Gopurams (towers) at the temple.
