In a major consumer-focused initiative to strengthen last-mile public services, India Post has rolled out the innovative ‘Postal Warrior Campaign’ across the North Gujarat Region, activating thousands of post offices to deliver faster, technology-enabled services to citizens.
The campaign was introduced by Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of the North Gujarat Region in Ahmedabad, with the objective of expanding postal services, promoting financial inclusion and capturing new business opportunities right up to the last mile.
As part of the initiative, all 1,905 Branch Post Offices in the region have been declared ‘Silver Postal Warriors’, reflecting a major milestone in the Department’s mission to modernise citizen services.
Faster digital services for citizens
With the adoption of advanced technologies, postal transactions at counters and branch offices have become significantly faster and more efficient, improving the experience for millions of customers.
The transformation reflects the vision of Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, whose guiding slogan for the department is:
“Dak Sewa, Jan Sewa.”
Today, India Post has expanded far beyond traditional mail services and has emerged as a trusted platform for financial inclusion, logistics, e-commerce support and digital citizen services.
‘Postal Warrior’ model drives performance
Explaining the initiative, Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said the campaign recognises post offices based on their service performance and outreach.
“Under the campaign, four categories of Postal Warriors have been identified – Silver Warrior, Gold Warrior, Diamond Warrior and Platinum Warrior.”
Branch Post Offices earn points through key services such as:
- Opening Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) accounts
- Collecting premiums for Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI)
- Booking Speed Post and parcel services
- Facilitating transactions through India Post Payments Bank
“Branch Post Offices acquiring a minimum of 100 points qualify as Silver Warrior, 250 points qualify as Gold Warrior, 500 points qualify as Diamond Warrior and 1000 points qualify as Platinum Warrior. The more you connect, the better you will be placed at the Postal Warrior hierarchy,” Yadav said.
Massive participation across North Gujarat
The North Gujarat Region, headquartered in Ahmedabad, comprises 2,258 Post Offices including:
- 9 Head Post Offices
- 344 Sub Post Offices
- 1,905 Branch Post Offices
The region covers six postal divisions — Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Patan and Banaskantha — along with the RMS ‘AM’ Division.

At the divisional level, Ahmedabad and Patan divisions have earned the ‘Gold Warrior’ distinction, while all divisions have achieved the Silver category.

North Gujarat has recorded ₹206 crore in revenue in FY 2025-26, with a 21% increase compared to the previous year.
For the first time, Post Office Savings Bank revenue crossed ₹100 crore by February 2026, highlighting the growing trust of citizens in postal financial services.
Key service statistics include:

Post offices also delivered several essential citizen services:

Transforming villages through postal inclusion
The postal network has also driven grassroots social initiatives across rural Gujarat.
So far in the North Gujarat Region:
- 1,100 villages declared ‘Sampoorna Sukanya Samriddhi Gram’
- 713 villages declared ‘Sampoorna Bima Gram’

These programmes promote financial security, insurance awareness and savings culture in rural communities.
Driving the vision of a developed India
Highlighting the broader national vision, Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said:
“India Post plays a vital role in realizing the vision of a developed India. While supporting key national initiatives such as Digital India, financial inclusion and the promotion of a cashless economy, the implementation of Advanced Postal Technology (APT) 2.0 aims to modernise postal services and enhance efficiency, transparency and service delivery up to the last mile.”
He added that initiatives such as “Dak Chaupal” are helping bring government services and citizen-centric programmes directly to rural communities.
