Godrej Enterprises Group is accelerating its strategic push into India’s rapidly expanding data centre sector with integrated, green-ready solutions spanning Power Infrastructure, Electrical Busduct systems, and Green Consulting Services, positioning itself as a key enabler of the nation’s digital infrastructure transformation.
- Integrated Power Infrastructure, Busducts, and Green Consulting Solutions positioned to fuel India’s digital infrastructure revolution
- Energy Solutions business targets 10–15% revenue from data centres over the next three years amid AI-driven expansion
- Greenfield and colocation projects aligned with IGBC and LEED standards accelerate Net Zero ambitions
- Union Budget 2026 policy thrust and tax incentives catalyse India’s rise as a global digital infrastructure hub
- Godrej aims to build resilient, energy-efficient digital ecosystems for hyperscalers, enterprises, and cloud leaders
With differentiated offerings tailored for hyperscalers, colocation providers, and enterprises, the Group’s Energy Solutions business is targeting 10 to 15 per cent of its revenue from the data centre segment over the next three years, reinforcing its commitment to powering the digital backbone of a Viksit Bharat. This growth trajectory aligns with the strong policy momentum from the Government of India to establish the country as a global digital infrastructure hub, underscored in the Union Budget 2026.
Commenting on the sector’s trajectory, Raghavendra Mirji, Business Head – Godrej Energy Solutions, said: “India’s data centre sector is entering a high-growth phase, supported by strong policy measures and rising digital infrastructure demand. However, these facilities are also among the most energy-intensive assets being built today. This creates a significant opportunity for our Power Infrastructure business to construct state of the art facilities for ensuring reliable electricity.
By pairing our modular Busduct systems with Green Building expertise, we can also help hyperscalers and enterprises scale rapidly in India while cutting energy use, cost, and carbon. With our green consulting expertise and experience in providing electrical solution to large-scale projects, we are well-positioned to support this transition.”
Enabling energy-intensive digital infrastructure with green innovation
As India’s digital economy scales rapidly, data centres are emerging as among the most energy-intensive infrastructure assets, driven by exponential growth in AI workloads, cloud computing, and data localisation requirements.
Recognising the strategic importance of digital infrastructure, the Government has introduced long-term tax incentives and policy support for data centre and cloud infrastructure, creating unprecedented opportunities for integrated solution providers capable of delivering:
- Reliable and uninterrupted Power Infrastructure
- Efficient and safe Electrical Busduct systems
- Sustainable Green Consulting Solutions
- Renewable energy integration pathways aligned with Net Zero goals
These solutions are critical for enhancing energy efficiency, operational reliability, carbon reduction, and long-term sustainability across hyperscale and enterprise data centre environments.
Proven expertise in greenfield and hyperscale data centre projects
Godrej Enterprises Group has already demonstrated strong execution capabilities across Greenfield and colocation data centre projects, delivering infrastructure designed to globally recognised sustainability benchmarks, including standards established by the Indian Green Building Council and the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification framework.
The Group has successfully collaborated with leading data centre operators across India and is expanding its order pipeline by offering:
- Power Substation construction
- Advanced Busduct systems for efficient power distribution
- Comprehensive Green Building Consultancy solutions
These integrated offerings are designed to help data centres scale rapidly while optimising energy use, improving resilience, and achieving sustainability targets.
Strategic growth driven by AI, cloud, and digital transformation
Industry estimates indicate India’s installed data centre capacity is set to rise sharply, reaching nearly 1.7 GW in the near term, with sustained capacity additions expected over the coming years. This expansion is being fuelled by:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads
- Rapid cloud infrastructure expansion
- Data localisation mandates
- Digital adoption across industries
- Growth of hyperscale and enterprise computing ecosystems
Against this backdrop, Godrej Enterprises Group views data centres as a strategic long-term growth segment, aiming to play a pivotal role in building energy-efficient, resilient, and sustainable digital infrastructure that strengthens India’s position as a global data and technology hub.
