In these modern times, public relation firms need to evolve and redefine their relationship with journalists, said eminent journalist and educationist Shyam Parekh.
He was delivering a talk on “PR and Journalism” as part of the 5th memorial lecture of Shri Suresh Buch organsied by the PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter on Monday at Jitendra Desai Memorial Hall, Navjeevan Trust Campus.
PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter, an organization working towards betterment of fraternity and society and which also boasts of PR Professionals, Corporate Communication Experts, Journalism Institutes, and Students and other Media related professionals as its Members.
Lt. Shri Suresh Buch who had been the pioneer in the field of Public Relations and who was responsible for setting up the PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter.
Shyam Parekh said, “It’s now time for the PR Professionals and Journalists to integrate and work towards betterment of industry at large. In today’s day when the world is turning towards technology and online media evolution, journalists and PR professionals should also raise the bar and grab the opportunities present in front of them and it is also important to accept and tap emerging avenues for them for a better future and better world. He also stressed upon saying PR professionals now need to evolve with a new emerging era where technology is key.”
He also shared that through some special sections in his annual Gujarat Literary Fest he would like to pay continuous homage and respect to stalwarts like Suresh Buch. He also invited PRSI to organize joint workshops and seminars with Bhavan’s college and pave the path of training and development of PR Professionals and journalists.
The programme also witnessed special guest B L Yadav – Past Chairman – PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter and Vipul Shukla – Past President – PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter along with Dilip Chauhan – National Secretary – PRSI, Unmesh Dixit – National Vice President – West – PRSI, R K Singh – Chairman – PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter, Subhojit Sen – Secretary – PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter, Vicky Shah, and Dr. Shashikant Bhagat – Executive Members – PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter.
