The Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) on Monday announced that President Droupadi Murmu, who is also The Visitor of CUTN, will be the Chief Guest for the 9th Convocation of the CUTN to be held , on Saturday, 30th November 2024. The ceremony will be held from 3:10 pm to 4:20 pm at the University’s campus in Neelakudi, Thiruvarur.
- The President will also confer Gold Medals on 33 top-ranking students and present degree certificates to 22 doctoral graduands
- A total of 614 students including 342 female graduands, will get their degrees
R.N. Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu; Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Education, Government of India, and M.K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, along with several other eminent guests from the academic institutions will also taking part in this convocation.
The convocation will feature an inspiring Convocation Address by the President, offering guidance and encouragement to the graduands. The President will also confer Gold Medals on 33 top-ranking students and present degree certificates to 22 doctoral graduands, each of whom has made significant contributions to their respective fields of research.
A total of 614 students have applied to receive the degree, representing a diverse group of achievers across a range of disciplines. Among them are 342 female graduands and 272 male graduands, highlighting CUTN’s commitment to gender equity and inclusivity in higher education.
