President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Tamil Nadu and Puducherry later this week. She will arrive in Chennai on Saturday, the night of 5th August and preside over the convocation of the University of Madras, the next day.

- The President would rename the Darbar Hall as ‘Bharathiar Mandapam’ after the renowned poet and freedom fighter Subramania Bharathi
Governor RN Ravi will host a banquet in her honour during the evening at the Raj Bhavan where she would rename the Darbar Hall as ‘Bharathiar Mandapam’ after the renowned poet and freedom fighter Subramania Bharathi. She would leave for Puducherry the following day.
During her visits to the state earlier this year, President Murmu had visited the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari and the Madurai Meenakshi temple. She also took part in the Shivratri celebrations organised by the Isha Foundation.
