President Droupadi Murmu offered heartfelt prayers at the sacred hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala on Friday, marking a deeply spiritual moment in her two-day visit to the temple town.

The President began her pilgrimage with a visit to the Sri Varaha Swamy Temple, after which she proceeded to the Maha Dwaram of the Tirumala shrine. She was formally received by TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and senior officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

According to an official statement from TTD, “The President offered prayers at the hill shrine of Sri Venkateswara Swamy along with her family members and entourage.”
Led by temple priests, President Murmu entered the Maha Dwaram and offered prayers at the Dhwajasthambham (flagstaff) before proceeding for darshan. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Endowments Minister A. Ramnarayan Reddy, and other dignitaries accompanied her during the visit.
Inside the sanctum sanctorum, the President participated in rituals and received traditional temple honours, including the Sesha Vastram and Veda Ashirvachanam (Vedic blessing) at the Ranganayakula Mandapam.
She was later presented with Theertha prasadams, a portrait of Lord Venkateswara, and the 2026 TTD diaries and calendars, marking the conclusion of her spiritual visit.
President Murmu’s darshan at Tirumala came a day after she visited the Sri Padmavathi Temple at Tiruchanur on Thursday evening, completing a serene and auspicious pilgrimage.
