She recalled that before entering politics, Shri Narayanan had an illustrious career in the Indian Foreign Service, where he represented India’s values of peace, justice, and cooperation with sincerity and dignity. Throughout his public life, he remained steadfast in his commitment to fairness, inclusion, and human dignity.

The President highlighted Shri Narayanan’s deep connection to his home state, Kerala — drawing inspiration from its social progress and emphasis on education. Even as President of India, he remained grounded in his roots and consistently championed the cause of education as a right for all and not a privilege for a few.

President Murmu said that Shri K.R. Narayanan’s legacy of morality, integrity, compassion, and democratic spirit continues to inspire the nation. She urged citizens to draw strength from his example and work towards building a more inclusive, just, and compassionate India that upholds the values he lived by.
