AHMEDABAD, MAY 1

A new wave is about to hit the world of thriller films for Gujarati cinema enthusiasts. Since the announcement of the new psychological thriller Bhram by the makers of the successful and critically acclaimed film Hun Iqbal, audience curiosity about the film has been growing steadily. With the release of promotional videos and posters, suspense has been building, and now, with the launch of the trailer, the mystery has deepened.

This psychological thriller is directed by the talented filmmaker Pallav Parikh, one of Gujarat’s finest creators, and the screenplay is written by him as well.

The film features stellar star cast like Mitra Gadhvi, Sonali Lele Desai, Abhinay Banker, and Nishma Soni in pivotal roles. After the trailer launch, the film has received an overwhelmingly positive response, sparking even more intrigue among the audience.

In terms of the storyline, Maya (played by Sonali Lele Desai), a 42-year-old woman, suffers from dementia, a condition that causes her to forget past events. However, when she witnesses the murder of her daughter, Shraddha (played by Nishma Soni), her life is turned upside down. Time is running out for Maya as she must piece together her fragmented memories to uncover the truth before the killer vanishes. Mitra Gadhvi plays Maya’s caretaker, Mehul, and Abhinay Banker plays a policeman investigating the murder mystery.

There have been over 16,000 murder mystery films made in India, but this one is different. This type of thriller has never been seen in Gujarati cinema before, and Bhram is all set to make a new benchmark. Produced by CityShor.TV, the same production company behind Hoon Iqbal, the trailer itself created suspense. The burning question remains: Was Maya’s daughter, Shraddha, murdered, and if so, who did it? This will only be revealed after watching the film.

The story is unique, but the promotional strategy adopted by the filmmakers is also distinct. For the first time in the history of Gujarati cinema, an Instagram game has been launched for the film. Recently, a group of young individuals, with blood-stained faces and flash mobs, were seen at Weekend Window, drawing the attention of numerous residents in Ahmedabad. This creative promotional stunt by the Bhram team has generated significant attention and expanded the reach of the film’s marketing.

Before the film’s release, Bhram’s unique promotional approach is paving a new direction for Gujarati cinema. By connecting with audiences through interactive technology and social media, the team is preparing to set a new standard for the Gujarati film industry.

A fresh perspective, a unique story—Bhram is ready to do something different in the history of Gujarati cinema and will be released in theatres on May 16, 2025.
