Daily COVID-19 cases in Puducherry dropped below the 100 mark on Sunday after a gap of six days as the tally rose to 35,109.
Three more people, including a 71-year old woman, died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours ending 10 AM on Sunday, taking the toll to 595, the Health department said.
The union territory recorded 96 new cases while 421 people were discharged on recovery, Health and Family Welfare Director S. Mohan Kumar said in a release here.
It was on October 25 that Puducherry last recorded fresh cases in two digits (83). Of the overall 35,109 cases, as many as 3,169 were active, 31,345 patients had recovered and discharged while the fatalities stood at 595, the official said.
The fatality and recovery rates were 1.69 per cent and 89.28 per cent respectively. So far, 3.11 lakh samples have been sent for testing. Of the fresh cases, Puducherry region accounted for 69, followed by Karaikal (11), Yanam (5) and Mahe (11).
The three patients who died of the infection were in the age group ranging between 59 and 71 years and had diabetes or kidney related ailments, the release added.
