AHMEDABAD, MAY 10
Bespoke Art Gallery presented Purusha Prakriti, a landmark art exhibition curated by renowned art historian and critic Uma Nair. Conceptualized by gallery founder Devin Gawarvala, the exhibition is a profound ode to nature, harmony, and human reflection in troubled times.

The show features a diverse range of works from 40 renowned artists across India and Jesús Curia Simon, Max Bannister and Gillie & Marc across the world. The exhibition will remain open for public between 11 am and 7 pm until May 2025 and entry is free for all.
On this Bespoke Gallery Founder, Devin Gawarvala said, “It is a great honor to host Purusha Prakriti a show that reflects the importance of different mediums and materials in Indian contemporary art. This is the first time so many known and unknown masters are coming together. BESPOKE is proud to be part of this venture we hope to do many more exhibitions in the future.”

“Purusha Prakriti is not just an exhibition; it is a journey through time, form, and the earth’s spirit. These artists unconsciously celebrate the threads of harmony within their own practice. While it may be the gods and goddesses it could be animals and birds it could be even the lexicon of a language. Each accent is varied but distinct. Incidentally, the show commenced on Earth Day on April 22, 2025,” says curator Uma Nair.
Purusha Prakriti brings together a compelling selection of sculptures, ceramics, drawings, printmaking, and paintings by acclaimed Indian and international artists. The show stands as a heartfelt tribute to India’s modernist master Himmat Shah, a native of Lothal in Gujarat, who passed away in March 2025.

Featuring iconic sculptures in bronze, terracotta, wood, and upcycled materials, the exhibition includes works by Himmat Shah, Arzan Khambhatta, Dhananjay Singh, Ankon Mitra, and Karl Antao. The outdoor installations showcase artists like Debashish Bera and Ankit Patel, celebrating India’s cultural traditions.
Ceramic art is represented by masters such as Vipul Kumar, Vineet Kacker, and Leena Batra, while contemporary drawings include those by Sanjay Bhattacharyya, KG Subramanyan, and Arijoy Bhattacharyya.

The printmaker segment honors Gujarat’s rich legacy, featuring KG Subramanyan, Jyoti Bhatt, Rini Dhumal, and Subrat Kumar Behera.
Paintings include evocative works by Manu Parekh, Arpitha Reddy, Pratul Dash, Poonam Bhatnagar, and others, reflecting spiritual depth, mythology, and the feminine form. Notably, Muzaffar Ali contributes a new calligraphy series begun in Delhi in 2024.
The show harmoniously blends traditional techniques with contemporary narratives, capturing the delicate relationship between humanity and nature.
