The south Indian film market continues to dominate the regional language film market in the country as the propensity to consume movies is greater in South than other regions. The appetite for movie viewing among audiences is much higher and hence major Hollywood studios are choosing to dub their movies into South Indian languages to reach a larger section of audiences. South Indian stars are like demigods for the fans and movies featuring them are able to connect with masses and classes. Lately a changing trend has been witnessed with multilingual content doing well at a national level reflecting the growing acceptability of non-Hindi content among audiences.
