R Mukund assumed charge as the new Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Thiruvananthapuram Division of Southern Railway on Monday (October 19, 2020).
An officer belonging to the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) 1986 UPSC batch, R Mukund has vast experience in different facets of Railway working. Prior to his posting as DRM he was Additional Divisional Railway Manager-II, Chennai and had served in Southern Railway, South Western Railway, Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, Rail Coach Factory(RCF), Kapurthala and Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) in various capacities.
An Associate Member of Institution of Engineers, India and Member, Institution of Engineering and Technology, England, he did his MBA from IIT Chennai. As the Chief Design Engineer at RCF, Kapurthala he was involved in rolling out India’s first Semi High Speed Tejas rakes with high-speed fiat bogies and automatic doors.
R Mukund, IRSME succeeds Shirish Kumar Sinha IRSEE as Divisional Railway Manager of the division, a release from PRO of Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division.
