Avtar, India’s leading Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion solutions firm, in collaboration with Seramount, a strategic professional services and research firm specializing in promoting inclusive workplaces in the United States, successfully conducted the eighth consecutive edition of the Best Companies for Women in India (BCWI) study in 2023. Over its previous seven editions, this study has established itself as the most comprehensive gender analytics initiative in the corporate landscape of India. This year, the study witnessed the participation of over 354 companies representing a wide spectrum of industries, geographical regions, and business sectors. These companies underwent a meticulous evaluation process, focusing on the granularity of their practices, programs, and policies to foster gender inclusion within their workplaces. The culmination of this process led to the alphabetical ranking of the Top 100 Best Companies for Women. R1 RCM earned a place on this prestigious list, recognizing the company’s best-in-class policies and practices that promote diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
Swati Khandelwal, SVP Human Resources, R1 RCM shared her thoughts on the recognition, “At R1, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do. We are thrilled to have been named among the Top 100 Best Companies for Women by Avtar and Seramount. We take immense pride in our efforts to uplift women’s participation across all levels and roles. Our ‘R1 Cares’ program empowers our employees to take charge of health and wellbeing for a healthy lifestyle and holistic wellbeing. We have curated extensive development programs to provide differentiated offerings at every level from an early career stage to leadership roles including tie-ups with premier management institutions. At R1, we have maintained a focus on having a gender-balanced workforce. We aspire to uphold this in the years ahead, strengthened by our people practices as an equal opportunity employer.”
Commenting on the occasion, Dr Saundarya Rajesh, Founder-President, Avtar Group said, “Gender diversity among the 100 Best Companies continues to increase. The average representation of women overall is an inspiring 36.9% this year in 2023, up from 25% in 2016 at the study’s launch. At this current rate, a 50:50 gender balance at these Best Companies will be a reality by 2030—a much sooner time frame, given the repercussions of the pandemic. While we celebrate the progress made, we must also be vigilant of persisting challenges. Inclusion is an ongoing commitment; constantly innovating, focusing on the growth aspirations of diverse talent and curating a culture of care must always be part of leadership priorities. Measuring and monitoring success metrics associated with these initiatives is non-negotiable.”
This accomplishment follows shortly after R1 RCM was acknowledged as one of India’s Top 50 Best Companies to Work For 2023 and India’s Top 50 Best Workplaces for Millennials™ 2023 by the Great Place To Work® Institute. These consecutive recognitions aptly demonstrate R1 RCM’s dedication to its workforce and its mission to establish an organization that is for “All”- a diverse, inclusive, and fair environment where every employee, irrespective of gender, thrives, grows.
