The Army Day is celebrated every year on 15 January as on this day, our country got its first Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General KM Cariappa in the year 1949. Before this, the Indian Army had a Britisher as the COAS. This was a historic occasion and since then it is being celebrated with full glory and honour every year.
