Superstar Rajnikanth will not support any political party in the ensuing local body elections, said an office-bearer of Rajini Makkal Mandram here on Sunday.
A statement released by V.M. Sudhakar, administrator of the RMM said that the actor will not support any party, hence, no one should use the name of the actor, his portrait or drag the name of the Rajini Makkal Mandram or the flag of the Mandram. Violation of this will attract appropriate legal action, Sudhakar added.
AIADMK holds talks with AISMK
The AIADMK leadership continued their preliminary talks with its allies for the second day on Sunday.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on Saturday continued the preliminary talks on seat-sharing with two more allies – All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi, led by R Sarathkumar, and Perunthalaivar Makkal Katchi led by NR Dhanabalan, for the local body elections.
Later, both the leaders held discussions with senior functionaries regarding the announcement of DMK that it will approach the court against the fresh election notification too. The discussions lasted for more than 30 minutes, party sources said.
