Ayodhya’s grand Ram temple is to be consecrated on January 24, 2024 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present at the biggest celebration for the Hindu society. To commemorate this momentous occasion and send the message of religious harmony, Ram Charitra Manas Charitable Trust, a dedicated organization founded with a profound spiritual vision, embodying the spirit of unity, charity, and religious harmony, has decided to take a Ram Charitra Manas Yatra, all the way from Ahmedabad to Ayodhya after a gap of 33 years, announced Ram Charan Mishra, Managing Trustee here on Friday.
The commencement of this grand yatra will be preceded by a two-day inaugural and facilitating event at Function Ground, Near Bank of Baroda, New Ranip, Ahmedabad, Gujarat – 382421.
On day 1, Monday, January 8, 2024 Kalash Yatra will be held at 7:00 am, Rath Pooja: 10:30 am, Pran Pratishta: 12:49 pm, Ramayan Sthapana and Pooja: 3:15 pm, Maha Aarti: 7:15 pm and Ramleela, Bhakti, Sangeet and Bhajan Performances, Maha Prasad Distribution and Bhoj: 7:30 pm (evening)
On day 2, Tuesday, January 9, 2024 Rath Pooja will be held from 6:00 am and it will be followed by
Rath Prasthaan: 9:00 am.
The 18-day long journey shall begin on January 08, 2024, up until reaching Ayodhya on January 20, 2024, with ‘dhwaja’ hoisting and presentation to the temple on January 22, 2024, scheduled darshan for all the devotees on January 23, 2024, and a scheduled return to Ahmedabad by January 25, 2024.
This Yatra shall have stop locations in about 12 cities, both bigger and smaller, with a convoy of 1,008 participating yatris, as well as over 500 volunteers facilitating the devout pilgrims; for which the registration will commence on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 1400 hrs (IST) till it reaches the limit of 1008. A nominal registration fee of Rs 101 will be levied per head.
In the present scenario of health and safety concerns, the Trust shall ensure that each of the participating yatris are following proper sanitation and medical precautions. Only those who are above 18 years of age and below 65 years, including women will be allowed. This yatra is an attempt to forever etch a momentous feat in the history of faith, as had been done 33 years ago, right portrayal of religion and an apt communication of greater good, instilling of trust and exemplification of the moral values for the coming generation.
Hence, for the same, each of the stop locations shall have a 3-hour hold for the visual depiction of Ramlila, other art performances by local artists, a satsang conducted by the invited esteemed religious and thought leaders and bhajan singing or a celebrity show by hosted celebrities.
However, while on the route to engage the participating yatris and to provide them with the promised holy environment, ‘Ram Naam’ would be chanted during the entire Ram Charitra Manas Yatra.
This ‘Ram Naam’ incantation or ‘jaap’, alongside the reading of Ram Charit Manas and its ‘parayans’ shall be done by 15 pandits (both local and renowned), while the Ramlila is visually depicted on especially made trucks and bhajans played in the background.
The participating yatris have the freedom to join both virtually or physically, and become a part of the ceremonious commemoration of the Ayodhya Temple.
Ram Charitra Manas Yatra (RCMY) Charitable Trust is also in the process to receive confirmation of many government dignitaries, corporate individuals, to attend the inauguration of the Ram Charitra Manas Yatra as well as the ‘dhwaja’ hoisting ceremony at the Ayodhya temple.
