Noted spiritual leader and Ramcharit Manas exponent Morari Bapu actively contributed to the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign by participating in cleaning activity in Morbi, highlighting the importance of cleanliness.
Accompanied by hundreds of devoted followers, Morari Bapu and other prominent persons enthusiastically participated in a cleanliness drive at the venue of his ongoing Ramkatha in Morbi at 10:00 am on Sunday.
Morari Bapu’s involvement in the national campaign would have surely inspired countless others to pick up the broom and join the cleanliness drive.
Expressing his strong commitment to take part in the cleanliness drive, Morari Bapu had announced a day earlier that the Ramkatha would begin an hour later than usual this Sunday as a result.
“The Government of India has announced the Swachhata Hi Seva programme. This is a national event and all of us should contribute to it in true earnest. The Vyaspith is wholeheartedly taking part in the cleanliness drive. I am also going to participate and contribute to a cleaner India. I also appeal to everyone to join in this endeavour,” Morari Bapu had said a day earlier.
The fortnight-long Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, centred on the theme ‘Garbage-Free India’ was organised in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarion call for cleanliness.
The campaign culminated on Sunday with members of the government and citizens taking part in cleanliness drives in various locations as part of an hour citizen-led “Shramdaan for Swachhata”.
