The School of Security, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (SSLECJ) of Rashtriya Raksha University has conducted “One-Week Capacity Training Program” for 20 CBI Law Officers between March 21 and March 26, said Dr. Anand Kumar Tripathi, Pro Vice-Chancellor In-charge & Director In-charge, School of Security, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (SSLECJ) at Dahegam, Gandhinagar on Friday.
On the penultimate capacity-building programme day, Friday, Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, IPS, Director, Central Bureau of Investigation and Praveen Sinha, IPS, Special Director, Central Bureau of Investigation addressed the trainees, Dr Tripathi added.
Dr Akshat Mehta, University Dean, RRU, said, “Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), an Institute of National Importance pioneering in National Security and Police Administration of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to upskill public prosecutors so as to increase the conviction rates.”
Throwing light on the capacity-buiding programme, Apoorva Mathur, assistant director of the School of Security, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, RRU, said, “It was a first of its kind programme for the CBI officers in Prevention of Corruption Act, Money Laundering Act, cyber laws as well as polygraph and brain mapping tests. With the advent of technology, crime patterns have been constantly changing as well as laws. To increase the conviction rates, the assistant public prosecutors as well as public prosecutors are expected to keep abreast of all modern and scientific techniques. They were imparted training in the forensic lab to stay ahead of criminals and thus helping in increasing the conviction rates.”
The feedback received from these trainees will help us improve the training process further, Mathur added.
