Gujarat-based Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), an esteemed institution of National Importance, on Monday announced its Puducherry campus will offer 5 courses on Security and Police Science from the ensuing academic year.
- This campus has the facilities of classrooms, hostels, laboratories, infrastructure facilities with a total intake of 200 students
- For undergraduate and diploma courses, 55 per cent marks in class 12 and 55 per cent marks in undergraduate for postgraduate courses are minimum qualifications
Maj. Gen. Deepak Mehra, Director of the School of Internal Security and SMART Policing at RRU, along with Cdr. Manoj Bhatt, Director Accreditation & Affiliation and Arsh Ganeshan, Assistant Director of RRU’s Puducherry Campus, addressed the media at the 4th Conclave in Chennai on Monday, March 11, 2024. M Annadurai, Additional Director General of Press Information Bureau, Chennai, graced the occasion as chief guest.
They briefed about the courses offered at the Rashtriya Raksha University campus in Puducherry. They said MoUs have been signed with the state police and other security agencies for hands on training for the students. This campus has the facilities of classrooms, hostels, laboratories, infrastructure facilities with a total intake of 200 students.
Diploma courses in Police Science, Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, Corporate Security Management, Degree courses in Criminology and Postgraduate courses in Criminology offered in the Puducherry campus. For undergraduate and diploma courses, 55 per cent marks in class 12 and 55 per cent marks in undergraduate for postgraduate courses are minimum qualifications. It is an Institute of National Importance and was created by an Act of Parliament in 2020.
A short introductory video on the vision, mission and various schools of RRU was played. Post this, the university representatives presented on the university’s mandate, training programs, extension activities, and collaborative Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed with both national and international agencies. This event helped RRU to reach out to a wider audience in India and abroad, promoting awareness about the university’s mission and accomplishments.
The conclave was informative and engaging in shedding light on RRU’s contributions to the field of security education and training.
