In a landmark move to revolutionize clinical training in India, RED Health, Asia’s only JCI-accredited and India’s largest emergency medical response platform, has successfully acquired 51% stake in the Tamil Nadu-based TACT Academy for Clinical Training, India’s first simulation-based healthcare training centre. The announcement was made during a press conference held on Friday, marking a transformative step in advancing healthcare education and emergency preparedness. The acquisition reflects RED Health’s mission to create a global center of excellence in the allied healthcare space, with a focus on emergency medical services and pre-hospital care, while preparing a workforce in across the sectors and make them capable of addressing healthcare challenges both in India and globally.
TACT, established in 2007, has earned its reputation as a leader in simulation-based clinical training. As it becomes RED TACT, the academy will retain its legacy while expanding its reach and curriculum to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare sector. Through this collaboration, RED Health can ensure a steady pipeline of skilled personnel, enhancing both response times and the quality of care offered across its operations in more than 30 cities. This step also aligns with RED Health’s vision of establishing a 911-like system in India, ensuring readiness in emergencies.

Reply to a query, Dr Ramakrishnan said that this collaboration imminent to broad-base the life-saving skills to across all sectors including corporates. The Red Health-TACT Academy will join hands in to impart life-saving skills to the masses and also aiming to addressing demand-supply gap of trained health professionals including doctors, nurses and para-medics he added.
The acquisition is set to enhance the curriculum with new programs tailored to modern healthcare demands. Specialized courses in trauma care, emergency management, and pre-hospital care will be introduced, catering to professionals across diverse roles, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and technicians. Leveraging RED Health’s expertise and nationwide presence, RED TACT plans to establish a robust training network in key cities such as Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, and Bangalore. While continuing to deliver its well-regarded existing curriculum, the academy will launch innovative programs such as a finishing school for healthcare professionals, bridge courses for fresh MBBS graduates, NABH training packages, and other skill-based courses. These initiatives are tailored to equip the healthcare workforce with the capabilities required to thrive in the rapidly evolving healthcare industry.
