Isha Agro Movement (IAM) on Monday announced that it has conducted an on-field agricultural training on ‘Monitoring Insects’ for the farmers on Saturday and Sunday, the 3rd and 4th of September at Isha Agro Farm, Mevani Village, Gopi Taluk in Erode District. IAM, which is pioneering a turn towards natural organic farming, conducts these various field training every month.
Renowned entomologist Selvam conducted the 2-day on-field, in-person training which witnessed farmers from various districts of Tamil Nadu participating in it. The training was designed to give the farmers hands-on knowledge of the characteristics and uses of various types of insects.

The role of insects in organic farming, differentiating between beneficial insects and harmful insects, methods to attract beneficial insects, and integrated pest management were discussed in detail. Additionally, the farmers were split into separate groups to view and understand the insects on the farm. They were themselves made to draw pictures of insects to understand the anatomy of insects in detail.
