Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) conducted a one-day Training Program on Capacity-Building & Personality Development on Wednesday. The event was organized by the Department of Social Work, RGNIYD and funded by the National Commission for Women (NCW), New Delhi. The program is exclusively for Postgraduate girl students from different disciplines.

Dr S Kumaravel, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Social Work has delivered the welcome address. Dr M Rex Sahayaraj, Faculty, Department of Social Work, briefly explained about the NCW and Programme.
- The program is exclusively for Postgraduate girl students from different disciplines
- Totally 300 girls participate from different Arts and Science colleges, Engineering colleges and RGNIYD
- Prof Sibnath Deb, Director, RGNIYD, in his inaugural address highlight the women’s role in all spheres of life and the responsibility of men to protect women
Prof Sibnath Deb, Director, RGNIYD, in his inaugural address highlighted the women’s role in all spheres of life and the responsibility of men to protect women. He, further mentioned the importance of rights and schemes available for women empowerment and emphasized the importance of education, which can lead girls in acquiring a career.
The resource persons of the program were renowned academicians from all over India. They are Dr Arul Kamaraj, Dr Jonas Richard A, Dr Sam Deva Asir R M and David Raj. Totally 300 girls participated from different Arts and Science colleges, Engineering colleges and RGNIYD. All the participants are provided with certificates.
