Music director turned actor and editor Vijay Antony starrer ‘Kodiyil Oruvan’ (One in a crore) , a political thriller, is set to hit the screens worldwide on September 17, said its producer TD Rhaja of Chendur Films and co-Producers G Dhananjayan of Infiniti Film Ventures here on Thursday.
Addressing the media, actor Vijay Antony said the hard work of the entire team of ‘Kodiyil Oruvan’ will entertain the public in big screens after the corona-induced lockdowns. The film conceptualized the problems faced by the downtrodden living in urban slum clearing board apartments in North Madras and Kannagi Nagar on the outskirts of Chennai.

“Unlike Chennai, there are no beaches in other parts of Tamil Nadu and those who are living in rest of Chennai, cinema halls are holy places for people to relax. Cinema is a culture. I watched the final output of the movie and I am confident that audience will like it. I started composing music inspired by Ilaiyarajaa sir. I appreciate Nivas K Prasanna for his musical essence. Director Ananda Krishna will definitely become a top league director soon. Co-actor Aathmika is my favourite heroine. Beyond her ability to deliver astounding performances, she is a talented personality and will become a successful entrepreneur in future.”
Endorsing the views of producer T Shiva of Amman Creations, Vijay Antony said, “I accept the compliment and will replicate as new version of kind-hearted actor Vijayakanth. I am planning to act few films free of cost to help the producers in future, probably after three to four months.”
Producer TD Rhaja said, “When director Ananda Krishna narrated me the script, I felt that it has something unique. Apparently, such scripts would actually demand nearly 100-120 days of shooting. To my surprise, the director managed to wrap up the shootwithin 75 days. Music Director Nivas K Prasanna is a big talented personality, and he has delivered a fabulous work for this movie. Vijay Antony is a real life hero. During the pandemic times, he voluntarily came forward to reduce his remuneration for the well being of producers. I am happy that he is embarking on his directorial journey with the movie ‘Pichaikaran 2.’ I wish him all the best. Aatmika is the best heroine I have worked till date. She has been a great support to the movie”.
Co-producer G Dhananjayan said, “I still remember the day when Vijay Antony revealed me the promise of ‘Kodiyil Oruvan,’ and it had instantly instilled confidence in me to proceed the project. Director Ananda Krishna is a proficient filmmaker, who is an expert over perfect planning that makes him the producer friendly. Vijay Antony is officially launching himself as Editor. I told him that he is now eligible to become a filmmaker and it has finally happened. Aatmika is not just a talented artiste, but a great human for she has been actively involved in the promotional events. This movie has a responsible content and will be liked by all.”
Cinematographer NS Uday Kumar, said, “We constantly kept searching a live location for the movie. Director Anand Krishna strained a lot by staying in the neighborhood of Kannagi Nagar to get the locations locked. We have tried our best and hope audiences will notice and appreciate us.”
Actor Aathmika said, “I was so elated to hear the team work of technicians worked behind the screens, who had put in their all efforts for the success of the film and hope that the film will pull the audience worldwide and would be a good entertainer for the public in big screens.”

G Dhananjayan of Infiniti Films is one among the rarest producers to pay the actors and technicians promptly. Vijay Antony is the new version of Vijayakanth. Vijayakanth sir has introduced 52 new directors and I hope that Vijay Antony will replicate him in introducing many new directors in future.”
In his acceptance speech, film director Ananda Krishna said, “When I narrated the script to producer Rhaja and told him that the story needs a strong backdrop like Kannagi Nagar in the outskirts of metropolitan city Chennai. It would not be possible to produce such a hit film without the cooperation of the production house.
I was so inspired by the hard work of actor Vijay Antony. It was a big challenge to shoot in a heavily crowded Kannagi Nagar and it was a smooth sailing because of actor Vijay Antony’s personal interaction with the local people. Budding music director Nivas K Prasanna has delivered beautiful songs based on different musical genres.’’
