AHMEDABAD, JUNE 3
Betting big on Gujarat’s rapidly expanding electric mobility landscape, Oben Electric on Wednesday unveiled its newly launched Rorr Evo electric motorcycle in Ahmedabad, with the company simultaneously announcing plans to establish 15 showrooms across the state by FY27.

The launch, attended by Kaushik Vekariya, Minister of State for Law & Judiciary, Energy & Petrochemicals, and Legislative & Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Gujarat, marks a significant step in Oben Electric’s strategy to deepen its presence in one of India’s fastest-growing EV markets.
The Bengaluru-headquartered electric motorcycle manufacturer said the expansion will enhance customer access to electric motorcycles, after-sales support and ownership services across Gujarat, where EV adoption continues to gain momentum amid growing consumer awareness and an evolving ecosystem.
The company plans to strengthen its footprint across major cities including Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Gandhinagar and Mehsana.
Ahmedabad has already emerged as a critical growth engine for the brand, contributing nearly 30 per cent of Gujarat’s total Rorr Evo bookings. Oben Electric said it has also received more than 500 dealer enquiries from the state over the past 30 days, underlining strong market interest in the electric motorcycle segment.
Delivering a special message on the occasion, Harsh Sanghavi, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, said: “Made in India, for India, I warmly welcome the Oben Rorr Evo to Gujarat. This is not just an electric motorcycle; it is a new step forward for Atmanirbhar Bharat on our roads. In FY26, Gujarat has emerged as the first state in the country to move towards electric vehicles at the fastest pace. EV adoption has grown by 111% in one year. I believe that in the coming years, the people of Gujarat are ready to move forward with electric mobility.”
Speaking at the launch, Kaushik Vekariya said: “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Oben Electric on the launch of its 100% Made-in-India electric motorcycle. This milestone reflects the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote indigenous manufacturing and accelerate India’s transition towards sustainable mobility. Our state’s respected Minister of State for Home Affairs, Harshbhai Sanghavi, has also extended his best wishes to the brand. We are confident that Oben Electric will play a significant role in advancing the electric vehicle revolution in India. We believe that in the coming years, the popularity of this Made-in-India electric motorcycle will grow not only across Gujarat but throughout the nation, contributing to a cleaner, greener and self-reliant India.”
The company’s aggressive expansion plans come on the back of an exceptional market response to the Rorr Evo, which crossed 25,000 bookings within just 15 days of launch—one of the fastest booking ramps witnessed in India’s electric motorcycle category.
Commenting on Gujarat’s importance to the company’s growth plans, Madhumita Agrawal, Founder and CEO of Oben Electric, said:
“Gujarat is emerging as one of the most promising markets for electric mobility in India, driven by increasing consumer awareness, a rapidly evolving EV ecosystem and growing acceptance of electric motorcycles. The strong response to the Oben Rorr Evo in Ahmedabad and across the state reinforces our belief that Gujarat will play a significant role in Oben Electric’s growth journey. As demand for performance electric motorcycles continues to rise, we remain committed to building a robust retail and service ecosystem that delivers a dependable and future-ready ownership experience for customers across the state.”
Highlighting the company’s indigenous engineering capabilities, Gaurav VK Singhvi, Managing Partner, Avinya Ventures and Co-Founder of We Founder Circle, an early investor in Oben Electric, said:
“Oben Electric exemplifies the true spirit of Make in India. At a time when much of the industry relies on imported technology and components, Oben has invested in building core EV technologies, manufacturing capabilities and intellectual property in-house. This commitment to indigenous innovation not only strengthens India’s EV ecosystem but also demonstrates that world-class products can be designed, engineered and manufactured in India for Indian consumers. As an early investor, it is encouraging to see the company continue scaling while staying true to its engineering-first approach.”
Performance-Focused Electric Motorcycle
The Rorr Evo is priced at an introductory ₹99,999 (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers, after which it will retail at ₹1,24,999 (ex-showroom). Customers can continue to avail the introductory pricing through the company’s live online payment portal.
Powered by Oben Electric’s proprietary IPMSM motor generating 9 kW peak power, the motorcycle delivers 250 Nm of wheel torque. The heavy rare-earth-free motor is IP68 certified, 40 per cent more compact than the previous generation and offers 20 per cent higher power output.
The motorcycle is equipped with a 3.4 kWh LFP battery pack that delivers a claimed range of 180 km, accelerates from 0-40 kmph in three seconds and offers a top speed of 110 kmph. Fast charging enables the battery to charge from 0 to 80 per cent in 90 minutes, while an eight-year battery warranty is aimed at enhancing long-term ownership confidence.
Other highlights include SmartIQ™, the company’s AI-driven ride optimisation technology that can improve range efficiency by up to 15 per cent, a 5-inch colour TFT display, OTA updates, turn-by-turn navigation, geo-fencing, remote immobilisation and fall-detection-enabled emergency SOS through the proprietary ARGUS connected vehicle platform.
National Expansion Momentum
Oben Electric currently operates more than 150 showrooms and service centres across over 100 cities in 18-plus states. The company plans to add another 200 exclusive showrooms nationwide by FY27.
Its vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Bengaluru has an annual production capacity of one lakh motorcycles. The company designs and manufactures critical EV components in-house, including LFP batteries, motors, vehicle control units, chargers and proprietary software systems.
Supported by dedicated Oben Care service centres, the company said it maintains a customer satisfaction score (CSAT) of 91 per cent, reflecting its focus on ownership experience, reliability and long-term customer trust.
As Gujarat races ahead in EV adoption and infrastructure development, Oben Electric is positioning itself to ride the next wave of growth with a distinctly Indian engineering and manufacturing playbook.
