The Rotary Club is organising an orientation seminar for its new members on Sunday to give them a better understanding of Rotary and its activities and how they can contribute actively to them.
Being hosted by the Rotary Club of Ahmedabad West, the seminar will be addressed by eminent Rotarians.
Dr Balwant Chirana, Rotary District Governor 3054 for 2022-23, will explain the purpose of the seminar and also share his Rotary journey of 25 years.
Rotary’s District Governor Elect for 2023-24 Mehul Rathod will speak about the history and achievements of the Rotary Club, which will be followed by Past District Governor Lalit Sharma sharing details about the activities of The Rotary Foundation and how it is contributing to making the world a better place.
“Rotary is a vibrant community that is committed to making the world a better place. As more members became a part of our thriving community and strengthen our efforts to do credible and purposeful service, we want to make sure that they are fully aligned with the Rotary thinking and philosophy. This orientation seminar is aimed at making the new members aware of the work Rotary is doing at the location, regional, national, and international levels. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet senior Rotary members and office-bearers,” said a senior Rotarian.
At the seminar, Past District governor Maullin Patel will speak about Rotary’s Seven areas of focus and the tremendous local and global impact of Rotary as an organisation. Event Chairman and District Rotaract Committee Chair Bhanu Gupta will present a glimpse of the programmes of Rotary International and the benefits they have ushered in.
Dharmendra Joshi, Chair of International Youth Exchange, will deliver an address on the topic of who and why to be an active member of Rotary, which will be followed by an open house session.
