Cervical cancer claimed over 3.2 lakh lives of women globally last year out of which 25 percent of the victims were from India. With the advancement in medical science, almost all of these deaths were preventable. In order to create an awareness among the masses, Rotary Club of Bhavnagar Vibrant organised a seminar on Cervical Cancer Awareness here on Monday.

It was held at Maharanishree Nandkuvarba Mahila Arts and Commerce College and led by Dr. Kalpana Khandheria, a distinguished gynecologist from Jamnagar and a passionate Rotarian.
She explained the causes and risk factors of cervical cancer, and stressed the importance of regular screening. She also shared vital information about the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) vaccine.

The seminar was attended by young women in large numbers. They not only gained knowledge to protect their health but also empowered them to spread awareness among the family memebers and community at large. It was an enlightening session that truly reflected Rotary’s commitment to ‘Service Above Self.’
Dr. Kalpana Khandheria was felicitated by Rotary Club of Bhavnagar Vibrant President Namrita Chadha and other Rotarians.
