Ajith Kumar (Arjun) is a police officer who believes in reformation rather than punishment, and empowered them for a positive life in his action film ‘Valimai.’ The character reminiscenced the late Makkal Thilagam MGR in ‘Rickshawkaran.’ An honest Assistant Commissioner of Police, he is very closely attached with his family.
He was deputed to nab a biker gang ‘Satan’ in Chennai who are involved in various criminal activities, including distribution of drugs, bike robbery and chain snatching etc.
This gang has Chennai under its control. Was Ajith successful in nabbing the gang, what were the difficulties that he faced and how does it affect him forms the rest of the story.
When majority of the lead heroes would have shied away from such a story, Ajith accepting it, as it has strong family sentiment next to his block buster ‘Viswasam.’ Ajith is stylish as ever and carried the movie on his shoulder from the beginning to the climax.
His daring stunt sequences are impressive and will completely mesmerise the fans all along.
The emotional family sentiment scenes are sure to strike a chord with the family audience. Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi has stamped her mark in the role as co-star of Ajith.
Karthikeya is top notch as the antagonist. He fits the role perfectly as the menacing biker. Rest of the cast have also done their part well.
Director H Vinoth’s detailing makes the film an interesting to watch.
The screenplay in the first half is racy and to the point. However, the same cannot be said about the second half as it lags in some scenes. A few scenes look forced and breaks the flow.
The stunt sequences are the major selling point of the movie and have exceeded expectations. The bike and bus stunt sequence choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan are award worthy stuffs.
Yuvan Shankar Raja’s background music is to the point and elevates the mood in each and every scene of the film.
