B Govindarajan, Executive Director, Royal Enfield on Tuesday felicitated 36-members of the BSF Seema Bhawani All-Women Daredevil Motorcycle Team with a Certificate and a Trophy for having been a part of this truly amazing motorcycle expedition.
Flagged off on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2022, from India Gate in New Delhi, the BSF Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition Empowerment Ride – 2022 successfully concluded its remarkable journey from New Delhi to Kanyakumari to Chennai on Tuesday.
Organized in close collaboration with the Border Security Force and Royal Enfield, the Expedition led by Inspector Himanshu Sirohi concluded a grueling 5280-km ride that traversed diverse terrains across Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on the all-new Royal Enfield Classic 350s. To celebrate this incredible feat, Royal Enfield organized a special felicitation ceremony for the team at its Vallam Vadagal facility near Chennai.

Conceptualized to propagate the message of women empowerment, and celebrate women’s achievements, the Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition 2022 saw 36 women riders interact with various riding communities and audiences along the way with an intent to sensitize and build more awareness about the capabilities of women while emphasizing freedom from bias, stereotypes and discrimination.
Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, B Govindarajan, Executive Director, Royal Enfield said, “For more than 70 years, Royal Enfield has proudly been in service of the Indian Armed Forces and Central Forces, and have been trusted allies of these teams across most extreme terrains. We are very happy to have had an opportunity to collaborate with the BSF once again on such an incredible expedition. It has been heartening to see this all-women team ride the Royal Enfield Classic 350s across the country for spreading the message of equality and empowerment of women. At Royal Enfield, we believe riding is a means to self expression, and it has been our endeavour to create more opportunities for women to ride. This expedition will certainly inspire many more women to break the glass ceiling and pursue their passions. We wish the team all the best in their future endeavors and hope to have the honour and the opportunity to associate on many more such initiatives in the future.”
The riding contingent of women were happy to be at the Royal Enfield manufacturing facility. Having ridden these motorcycles for their renowned, daredevil, motorcycle-formation performances on the Rajpath every Republic Day parade, these women were keen to see and learn how these Royal Enfield Classics are manufactured and assembled. The Seema Bhawani team keenly engaged with and spoke to the factory teams, especially to the Royal Enfield women workforce on the assembly line.
BSF Seema Bhawani All-Women Daredevil Motorcycle Team was raised in the year 2016, and has some magnificent and stunning performances to its credit, including having displayed their skills twice on the occasion of Republic Day Parade at Rajpath, New Delhi in 2018 and 2022. All along the expedition, the Seema Bhawani riders were joined by riding communities as well as youth, who cheered them on, applauding their determination and fortitude while on this challenging expedition. The BSF Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition “Empowerment Ride – 2022” witnessed exhilarating moments of team spirit and camaraderie from the riders, encouraged by the amazing support from enthralled audiences along the route.
