AMMAN, JORDAN, JAN 9

Royal Jordanian Airlines on Wednesday announced the launch of its non-stop air services to Mumbai and New Delhi from Amman, starting April 17. While services to the financial capital will start from April 17, Delhi will be connected with Amman from September 17, the West Asian carrier said.

With four weekly flights to each destination, Royal Jordanian Airlines offers flexibility, convenience, and unparalleled service, setting a new benchmark for travel between Jordan and India.

  • The new routes will offer in-flight entertainment, WiFi, and connect passengers to over 45 destinations
  • The new routes to Mumbai and New Delhi will be served by narrowbody A320neos in dual-class configurations — economy and business
  • As part of its expansion plan, Royal Jordanian will introduce 19 new A320neo and Boeing 787 aircraft in 2025-26

These new routes align with Royal Jordanian’s growth and expansion strategy, focusing on positioning Jordan as a premier tourism destination for the Indian market and enhancing connectivity to over 45 global destinations, it said.

The new routes to Mumbai and New Delhi will be served by narrow body A320neos in dual-class configurations — economy and business — with features such as in-flight entertainment, and WiFi services, it said.

Flights from Mumbai and New Delhi will launch with competitive fares, starting at Rs 19,999 for one way tickets and Rs 33,333 for return tickets. With a flight time of just five hours, Royal Jordanian is excited to introduce Indian travelers to Jordan’s rich cultural heritage, modern Arabian charm, and unique offerings as an attractive tourism destination.

“The launch of our new routes to Mumbai and New Delhi marks a significant milestone in our strategy to promote Jordan as a tourism destination for the Indian market,” said Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer at Royal Jordanian Airlines.

Through these routes, the airline aims to showcase the unique experiences Jordan offers, he said.

The new direct connection between Jordan and India will also increase bilateral trade and economic link between the two countries, he added.

Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) also expressed its enthusiasm for the collaboration: ” Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) is thrilled to welcome Royal Jordanian Airlines as they launch the inaugural service from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) connecting Mumbai and Amman. This exciting new route, set to commence in March 2025, with 04 weekly flights, marks a significant milestone in enhancing global connectivity and offering seamless travel options for various segments of passengers. At CSMIA, we are committed to continually elevating the travel experience through state-of-the-art infrastructure and a relentless focus on excellence, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of international aviation. This route reinforces our vision to strengthen global reach while delivering unparalleled convenience to travelers.”

Amman, the hub of Royal Jordanian Airlines, will serve as a gateway for Indian travellers to Europe, North America, and the Middle East, providing seamless connections to a wide range of destinations, Royal Jordanian Airline said.

As part of its expansion plan, Royal Jordanian will introduce 19 new A320neo and Boeing 787 aircraft in 2025-26, the airline said.

In line with the “Explore Jordan” programme, the launch of these routes highlights Royal Jordanian’s commitment to showcasing Jordan as a unique tourist destination for Indian travellers, the airlines said..
