The School of Internal Security and SMART Policing (SISSP) at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), in collaboration with the Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM), is on Saturday announced the successful completion of the three-month hybrid certificate course on Disaster Risk Reduction and National Security.

Commencing on 22nd January 2024 and concluding on 26th April 2024, the Hybrid Certificate Course brought together a diverse cohort of participants representing various sectors, including the Indian Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), North-Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) and other Officials.

- Rashtriya Raksha University has announced the launch of Two-Year MA/MSc and M. Tech. programs in Disaster Management and National Security for the academic year 2024-25.
The program utilized a multifaceted approach, integrating virtual lectures, interactive workshops, field visits and hands-on exercises in the Disaster Risk Reduction SMART Lab to provide participants with comprehensive insights into the intricate dynamics between disaster risk reduction and national security.
The culmination of the course was marked by a valedictory session, where participants had the opportunity to showcase their learnings and insights gained throughout the program.
Chief Guest Dr. Roop Kishan Dave I.R.R.S (Retd.), Adviser (ICT&EWDS) – GSDMA (Gujarat), emphasized the significance of collaboration, innovation, community resilience, and preparedness in addressing the complex challenges of Disaster Risk Reduction and National Security. He applauded Rashtriya Raksha University for pioneering this unique course, which seamlessly integrates Disaster Management and National Security.
The valedictory session also witnessed the presence of Mr. Nisarg Dave, Director (Disaster Management), and R. D. Chaudhari, Director (Finance and Admin), GIDM.
Expressing his satisfaction with the course, Maj Gen Deepak Mehra, Kirti Chakra, AVSM, VSM (Retd.), Director of the School of Internal Security and SMART Policing, remarked, “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to collaborate with the Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management in organizing this certificate course. Participants from the National Disaster Relief Force, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd, Indian Army, and other professions expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to attend the course and appreciated the dedication of the faculty and the organizing team for seamless execution.
Furthermore, Rashtriya Raksha University has announced the launch of Two-Year MA/MSc and M. Tech. programs in Disaster Management and National Security for the academic year 2024-25. These programs aim to cultivate future leaders in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction and National Security. Admission is currently open through the RRU portal.
