The Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, celebrated its 6th Foundation Day and Alumni Day on Wednesday, at its Gandhinagar campus. The day was filled with a strong sense of pride, purpose, and belonging as alumni, students, faculty, and staff came together to honor the institution’s journey and its growing national impact.

The celebrations included alumni interactive sessions, panel discussions, and experience-sharing forums, where RRU graduates—now serving in police forces, armed forces, intelligence services, legal sectors, and corporate security organisations—shared their journeys with current students.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, in his keynote, said: “RRU is more than a university—it is a mission. Our alumni are our greatest ambassadors. Their success in serving the nation strengthens our resolve to continue producing leaders in national security and public safety.”
The occasion was particularly meaningful for alumni who returned to their alma mater. An RRU alumnus serving in the Central Armed Police Forces remarked: “Walking back into the campus after years of service felt like coming home. The training and discipline I gained here shaped my career. Today, I feel proud to share my experiences with the next generation of Rakshaites.”
Students, too, found the event inspiring. Riya Patel, a Master’s student in Cyber Security, shared: “Listening to our alumni who are serving the country gave me a sense of direction. It made me realize how our education here can directly contribute to national security.”
Beyond alumni engagement, the day also reflected RRU’s social responsibility initiatives. A Blood Donation Camp and Thalassemia Screening Test were organized for teaching and non-teaching staff. These initiatives not only promoted health awareness but also contributed to local healthcare needs.
The university also inaugurated new project works, marking another milestone in its continuous growth. These projects are expected to strengthen research, innovation, and student facilities, ensuring that RRU remains at the forefront of security education.
The celebrations concluded with a reaffirmation of the university’s commitment to its students and alumni. As one faculty member put it: “RRU’s strength lies in its community—students, alumni, and faculty working together for the greater good of the nation.”
With its alumni excelling in key security roles, its students motivated by real-world success stories, and its commitment to academic and social advancement, RRU’s 6th Foundation Day stood as a true reflection of the university’s motto: ‘National Security through Education.’
