Rashtriya Raksha University’s Directorate of Extension & Distance Learning has organized the inaugural ceremony of OPD Clinic, Health Awareness Camp, Mobile Bank VAN of ADC Bank and IT centre at Primary and Higher Secondary School at Lavad village in Dehgam taluka of Gandhinagar district on Friday. It was held as a part of Social responsibility for the betterment and wellbeing of Lavad Villagers under the visionary leadership of Prof (Dr) Bimal N Patel, Vice-Chancellor of Rashtriya Raksha University.

The objective of the event was to make Lavad a Model Village and the aforementioned event was a beginning of other subsequent programmes through which we will be providing various facilities to the villagers. The entire project was initiated to live up the expectation of Prime Minister’s vision for SMART, self-reliance and clean village and Union Home Minister sir has kept the responsibility on the shoulders of RRU to fulfil the Dream Project of Model Lavad Village, says a release.
The Vice-Chancellor addressed approximately 400 villagers at the event, emphasizing five major concerns of village development, which are
- Social & Economic Security and self-reliance with special attention towards the ‘Atmanirbharbharat’.
- Health, Hygiene and Cleanliness.
- Empowerment of women, children and especially the youth of the village through various training and skill development programmes.
- Employment opportunities for villagers.
- Curbing stigmatized issues prevailing in the society, such as liquor consumption and other immoral activities through active contribution from the villagers.
He highlighted willingness towards the holistic development of the Lavad village and wishes for contribution and sustained support from the villagers to make Lavad a model village which will also set an example for other villages in India.
After the interaction with villagers, the Vice Chancellor has dedicated the OPD clinic, ADC bank Van, IT centre as a token of love and respect to the villagers. A medical team of Rashtriya Raksha University along with the JMD Institute of nursing from Gandhinagar and a team of ADC bank, Dehgam was present there and performed the street plays and skit to spread the awareness over the subject of basic health, hygiene and cleanliness. The dedicated medical team and students with the help of pictorial depictions explained various health schemes offered by the government, especially focusing on women and children health.
Further, initiative under the projects such as Training & Awareness programme for systematic and scientific farming and animal husbandry, WIFI facility for villagers, Mobile Library for Aspirants, Daily Cleanliness Drive, Routine Health Check-Up, Mental Health and Wellbeing for Children by trained Psychologists, Kids Park, CCTV camera at Village, Yoga and fitness programme, skill based training programmes for youth, facilitated by Government’s various schemes etc…are also working for the villagers.
Dr Dimple Raval, Dean, Directorate of Extension & Distance Learning, Faculty of Law, SSLECJ and her team has well organized the event as it can be witnessed during the event, also the team has received an overwhelming input and appreciations from the Lavad Villagers.
