The third edition of Certificate Course on Counter-Insurgency and Counter-Terrorism was launched by the School of Internal Security and Police Administration (SISPA), Rashtriya Raksha University (An Institute of National Importance) at Lavad-Dehgam in Gandhinagar on Thursday.
The four-day session was inaugurated on Thursday, June 16 and will culminate on Sunday, June 19, 2022. The inaugural session commenced with 62 participants from Central Armed Police Force, Central Police Organisation, State Police Organisation, Academician & Research Scholars. The inaugural ceremony began with the welcome address of the Director-School of Internal Security and Police Administration, Bhawani Sinh Rathore
Subsequently, the session was addressed by the University Dean – Dr Akshat Mehta, He apprised the participants about the journey of the University from Raksha Shakti university to Rashtriya Raksha University, further he shared about the other school of the university and how they are working towards national security and public safety as a whole, he also shared range of courses and training being offered by the School of Internal Security and Police Administration in particular as well as courses and training program of university in general. The SISPA as established 6 centers which are focusing on the different aspect & ambit of policing.
University also focuses on different aspects of National security, university has dedicated schools for Strategic Languages, Criminal behavior studies, cyber security. Rashtriya Raksha University has recently inaugurated its new campus in Arunachal Pradesh and soon going to open a new campus in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh he added.
The inaugural session concluded with the vote of thanks by Sagar Ghodasara, Teaching cum research associate SISPA.
Post session, Prof (Dr) Sanjay Kumar Jha – Dean, School of National Security Studies, Central University of Gujarat, in his interaction with the media he congratulated RRU for organizing this type of training program. Terrorism and Insurgency is a global issue and a serious threat in Indian context he added.
Rahul Tripathi IPS of 2013 batch as a participant further added that this course will help to understand more about the importance of different Security Forces working in the field of Countering Terrorism, preventive measures to be taken and lastly handling the situations.
