Holds awareness drive on ‘No to Single Ues Plastic’
Environment & Housekeeping Management (EnHM) wing of the Southern Railway Headquarters functioning under the aegis of S Srinivas, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer organised a rally to promulgate the message of ‘“No to Single Use Plastic” among employees and rail users. Bharat Scouts and Guides also participated in the rally and also held mime show to create awareness.

Southern Railway and its divisions will organise various theme based cleanliness drives and campaigns during the Cleanliness fortnight with the help of NGOs, Scouts & Guides and volunteers. Employees will contribute to the drive by cleaning their workspace and participating in various awareness programmes. Intensive cleanliness drives focusing on ‘fill the dustbin’, anti-littering, plastic waste management, etc. will be held apart from regular inspections by Officers and Supervisors in trains and railway stations.
All the divisions and workshops of Southern Railway also launched Special Cleanliness drive today and Swachhta pledge was administered to Railway employees Divisional Offices and other establishments.
Southern Railway appeals to rail users to join hands with Railways in maintaining higher standards of cleanliness in trains, railway stations and tracks.
