With right mix of romance, comedy, glamour, suspense and action, S2G2 – A Romantic Mission, produced under the banner of Shreenik Outreach by producers Vishal Bhatt, Miral Shah, Maulik Patel and Dhaval Patel, is a wholesome family entertainer.
Directed by Rakesh Shah, the film portrays ACP Vivek Chauhan aka photographer, played by Maulik Chauhan, dismantling a child trafficking ring in Gujarat. In this film, King of Romance Maulik Chauhan graduates into an Action King in the avataar of Assistant Police Commissioner. Maulik Chauhan’s leading lady Katha Patel’s glamour quotient coupled with Shrey Maradiya and Priyal Bhatt duos romance are icing on the cake.
Close on the heels of Supestarr Yash Soni’s ‘Jagat,’ based on the real story of child trafficking and drug menace, this film also revolves around trafficking of children but with a different twist.
Aiming to crack the kidnapping cases of children, Maulik Chauhan joins fashion designer Katha Patel (Nishika) as her photographer. He is ably supported by Priyal Bhatt, who is in love with Shrey Maradiya, Maulik’s bosom friend.
As the love blossoms between the photographer and the fashion designer Neshika, she gets the funding from his industrialist father to hold the fashion show in their container depot in Mandvi. Meanwhile, one of the staffers of Nishika’s dad, the kingpin behind the kidnapping of children, moves them to Mandvi as the long arm of the law zeroes in on his hideout in Ahmedabad.
Cinematographer Nasir Khan has brilliantly captured the song sequences on Sabarmati Riverfront and the picturesque Mandvi beach. Both Maulik and Katha have shown their love in brilliant and restrained manner. However, Katha Patel excels in glamorous scenes.
Maulik Chauhan’s body language as the super cop and some of the action scenes to free the kidnapped kids from the clutches of the villain and his team in the container depot are par excellence.
Archan Trivedi has performed the role of a calculator uncle which suits him and I can bet no one else could have done better than him. He made his presence felt on screen whenever he was on screen. He is superb as usual and you will love to watch him and he will make you smile, that’s what you want from a movie.
Senior journalist Naresh Solanki makes a special appearance as one of the electronic media men.
Director Rakesh Shah has once again proved his mettle as task master to bring out the best from all actors.
