Get ready to witness the hilarious yet chaotic heartland drama as Disney+ Hotstar drops the trailer of Hotstar Specials’ Life hill Gayi. Stripped of their wealth, race to family inheritance brings the siblings Dev and Kalki from the city to a quaint little town of Uttarakhand to win the race. Produced by Aarushi Nishank, Himshrri Films, directed by Prem Mistry and written by Jasmeet Singh Bhatia, join the suffernama with Dev and Kalki with the hilarious Hotstar Specials’ Life hill Gayi, streaming exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar from 9th August onwards.
Blending Divyenndu’s track-record comic timing with Kusha Kapila’s charming and hilarious delivery to cement the iconic sibling pair – Dev Kalki, the series will also see uber-talented cast Vinay Pathak, Kabir Bedi, Bhagyashree, Mukti Mohan and Aditi Govitrikar among others.
Actor Divyenndu, said, “Dev believes in living life, king size. While he puts on a brave, know it all face but in reality, he is a vulnerable and affectionate guy. I was looking forward to a story such as this that allows me to tap into both the humorous as well as soft side of me. While on-screen Kusha and I are always quarreling but off-screen we became each other’s families. Life hill Gayi is a very relatable story of a dysfunctional family and I am sure each member in a family can relate to some or the other character in our series. This is my first association with Disney+ Hotstar and I hope audiences enjoy this light-hearted series.”
Actress Kusha Kapila aka Kalki said, “Kalki’s character is incredibly funny, dynamic, and relatable. From the moment I was introduced to her, I fell in love with her determination, her boss-lady vibe, and her authenticity so much that I knew this role was tailor-made for me and everything I bring to the table. The depth of Kalki’s character and her world allowed us to explore our creative freedom and play with the quirks. Her relationship with her family is unconventional, but their love is unbreakable. I personally believe families aren’t meant to be perfect; their true beauty lies in their imperfections and dysfunction. At the end of the day, we all laugh off our troubles and differences, and that’s what truly matters. Working with Divyenndu as my on screen sibling and Vinay Pathak sir as my dad has been such a joy because banter comes naturally to all of us and it’s fun. Actress Mukti Mohan, said, “Being a part of Life hill Gayi was a truly wonderful experience for me. It is like a breath of fresh air; it gave me comfort and a sense of belonging, and I’m sure the audience would feel the same way with a wonderful touch of comedy. Playing my character Hima challenged me in ways I had never experienced before, stepping into a character deeply rooted in a different world. I felt a deep connection with Hima—she knew exactly where she was going in life, and she stood firm in her beliefs with clarity and respect. Playing her allowed me to explore qualities I admire but often don’t embody fully.
