The Amdavadis spent a delightful weekend with ‘Sangaath’ – a one-day Festival with the scintillating performance collaborated by Samraga – The Festival of Indian Classical Music and Nrityalaya Dance Studio from the city.
The cultural fiesta began with the Kathak, a Classical dance and Semi classical dance performances by well-known danseuse Jashoda Patel and students of Nrityalaya Dance Studio. Patel is the disciple of renowned Gurus Ishira Parikh & Maulik Shah and has been performing for more than two decades.
After giving a memorable performance, the Founder of Nrityalaya Jashoda Patel said, “Always happy to perform for the audience of Ahmedabad. The students of my academy got to learn a lot through Sangaath”.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Patel said, “To preserve and propagate our ancient and rich classical dance forms, parents are requested to initiate their children at the age of seven under an able guru as it would take many years to learn the nuances of dance. By learning these dance forms, we are passing on our art and culture to the next generation and this link ought to continue forever.”
Hiren Chate, Director and Founder of Samraga, said, “Music never stops just like our life. We, at Samraga and Nrityalaya, felt grateful for the love showered upon us by the Ahmedabad audience. Looking forward to many such events in future. The main purpose of staging this live performance is to give an opportunity to budding artistes to learn from the veterans and keep the art for posterity.”
At ‘Sangaath’ the audience delved deep into the mesmerizing ‘Jugalbandi’ of both Hindustani and carnatic classical music performed by Hiren Chate ( Tabla), Viveick Rajagopalan (Mridangam), Manas kumar (Violen) and Abhay Nayampally (Electric Guitar).
To perceive as well as to present Indian classical Arts to maximum people, Samraga and Nrityalaya had collaborated for the first time to create a one day Festival called Sangaath.
