Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport started a weeklong awareness drive as part of the World Environment Day celebration on Monday. The celebration and awareness drive started with Plantation by stakeholders at the airport, and several activities followed.

The plantation drive started with an environmental pledge by all stakeholders. The focus of the pledge and world environment day celebration was to say no to Single-use plastic and spread awareness to avoid the use of single-use plastic. Following the plantation drive, a cleanup drive was also organized.
Young passengers traveling through SVPI airport had a surprise on this world environment day. They indulged in environmentally relate drawing activities and got surprised eco gifts. Passengers were also given cloth shopping bags, plantable pens, and other memories to take back home and spread awareness.
Under the several events planned for World Environment Day, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport successfully organized a cleanup drive on the Fuel Farm and Approach Road. During the cleanup drive, the team collected plastic waste of over 600 kg from the area.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is committed to environmental sustainability and will continue to organize such events to raise awareness and promote sustainable living. The airport commissioned four electric vehicles in the operational area recently to ensure the reduction of carbon footprint.
