R ARIVANANTHAM
TD Rajha’s Chendur Film International has produced ‘Naan Mirugamai Maara’ under their banner, which is all set for a theatrical release in the first week of November. The film directed by Sathya Shivaa has Sasikumar in the lead role.
The plot is all about a ‘common man’ who undergoes a transformation in life due to certain circumstances. Sasikumar plays a Sound Engineer in the film where sound plays an important role in changing his fate. Vikranth plays the antagonist in the film.
- The film is more of violence and the director had casted me on seeing one of my performances in my previous films where I beheaded the antagonist: Sasikumar
- Sun TV and Sun NXT have acquired the satellite and digital rights for the film.
Talking about his role in the film, Sasikumar said, “The title is synonymous with the story of the film. It is all about how a common man is triggered by a mixture of emotions and unpleasant events that transforms him into a violent animal. The film is more of violence and the director had casted me on seeing one of my performances in my previous films where I beheaded the antagonist.”
Hari Priya, who is roped in as the heroine of the film, said that this is her second project with Chendur Film International, the first being ‘Vallakottai’ and her fourth film in Tamil after ‘Muran’ and ‘Vaarayo Vennilaave’.
Speaking at the Press Interaction she said, “The Director approached me after watching my Kannada film ‘Bell Bottom’ and I immediately accepted the offer, since the script was too good. Actually, I took a break from Tamil cinema due to my busy schedule in Kannada films. Meanwhile, I’m also listening to Tamil Scripts and if they meet my expectations I’ll proceed with it. ‘Naan Mirugamai Maara’ is one such project that impressed me”.
She further added, “I received a lot of input from Sasikumar Sir since he is not just an actor but also a director and it’s really nice to be back in the Tamil industry”.
Haripriya plays the role of a typical housewife named ‘Anandhi’ who takes care of her husband and child.
Ghibran has composed the music for the film which has no song tracks, but only background music that will add mileage to the film.
“Everyone knows my struggle and the reason why I took a break from movies. Nothing is permanent in life. Everything changes and I have now realized that patience is more important than running behind passion. It is always important to choose subjects that interests you”, added Sasikumar.
He also said that he will be venturing back into direction soon and has a historical script which was written along with Venkatesh, right after the release of ‘Eesan’.
“The idea of this historical film started way before ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ and ‘Bahubali’ but the producers felt the budget was too high at that point of time. But I will be making this film soon after all my commitments are over,” he said.
When questioned about his stay in Madurai, he said, “It’s my native and I stay there with my family because most of my film’s shooting occurs in and around Madurai. There is a dubbing studio here which makes the work even easier and I am peaceful and comfortable staying here in my village and would visit Chennai if required”.
Raja Bhattacharjee has done the cinematography while the editing is done by Srikanth NB.
The film is yet to get a censor certificate & will be hitting the theatres in the first week of November.
Sun TV and Sun NXT have acquired the satellite and digital rights for the film.
