“Only soil rich in organic content can absorb rainwater, recharge groundwater & keep Rivers flowing; weak soil neither absorbs nor stores water causing Rivers to either overflow or run dry. #SaveSoil, save Rivers,” tweeted Sociopreneur Sadhguru on the International Day of Action for River Conservation.

The International Rivers Organization celebrates the “International Day of Action for Rivers” on March 14 every year.
For more than two decades, Sadhguru has been involved in reviving the rivers. In 2017 he drove 9300 km from Kanyakumari to the Himalayas under Rally for Rivers to inspire people’s support to change the policy of how we treat our rivers. The central government, subsequently in 2022, announced that it would undertake the rejuvenation of 13 major rivers in the country based on the Draft Policy Recommendations of the Rally of Rivers.
Sadhguru in 2022 undertook a 30,000 km solo bike ride across 27 nations to draw people’s support in helping governments across the world to create policies to increase the organic content in the dying soil – a calamity adversely affecting rivers – to say the least – and threatening human life.
