The second annual sports day of Chandra Mari International School (CMIS) Kalapatti in Coimbatore highlighted not only the athleticis on, but also the team work and unbridled enthusiasm of the students.
- We are giving due importance to developing the students’ skills beyond education to prepare them to participate in international competitions: Principal Sumathi Murali Kumar and Director Dr. Vijay Sanduru
- We share our experience with children to improve their sports skills: Olympians Revathi Veeramani, and Nandakumar
The events of the day started with the vibrant parade of students head held high, said Sumathi Murali Kumar, correspondent here on Monday.
The sports meet was inaugurated by the guests of honour Tokyo Olympics Indian sprinter Revathi Veeramani, Olympics softball player Nandakumar along with School Chairman Murali Kumar, Correspondent Sumathi Murali Kumar, by flagging off. Directors Vijay Sanduru, Gautam Chandru and Principal Vishal Bhandari were also present at the flag off ceremony.
School correspondent Sumathi Murali Kumar said, ”We have started coordinating students and parents in the field of sports for the first time in CMIS by forming 8 cricket teams comprising parents and students ”
School chairman Murali Kumar honored the winning students by awarding trophies and medals. Commenting on the sports festival, Principal Sumathi Murali Kumar and Director Dr. Vijay Sanduru said, ”We are giving due importance to developing the students’ skills beyond education to prepare them to participate in international competitions. We are inviting Olympic players to train students to excel in sports. Also, we have formed eight cricket teams comprising the parents and students so that they can showcase their talents. We are pleased to inform that our school has excellent sports infrastructure field.”
”Sports is given importance in government and private schools in TN. We belong to southern districts which encouraged us to participate in Olympic games. We share our experience with children to improve their sports skills,” said Revathi Veeramani, and Nandakumar.
The annual sports day was a great success. The enthusiastic participation of the students and the support of the school management staff and parents marked the day.
