AHMEDABAD, MAY 28
The second edition of the Cricket Premier League (CPL) is all set to be held from May 31 to June 14, 2025, at the SGVP Grounds on S G Highway, opposite Nirma University in the Sports Capital of India-Ahmedabad. A flagship initiative by the Chiripal Group, CPL is on a mission to elevate Gujarat’s domestic cricket landscape by offering a structured, competitive platform for top-tier Ranji Trophy players and emerging local talent. The opening ceremony will be graced by HH Shri Balkrishnadasji Swami, Vice President, SGVP; Vikas Sahay IPS, Director General of Police, Gujarat, and Ajay Patel, Vice President, Indian Olympic Association, and Chairman, Gujarat State Co-operative Bank and ADB Bank.

Returning stronger and more ambitious, the 2025 season will feature six dynamic teams, namely Sabarmati Strikers, Ahmedabad Arrows, Karnavati Kings, Heritage City Titans, Narmada Navigators, and Gandhinagar Lions. With the support of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), CPL remains a marquee tournament for celebrating cricketing excellence in the state.
The inaugural match between Heritage City Titans and Ahmedabad Arrows will commence at 7.30pm. The opening weekend will also feature Gandhinagar Lions vs Sabarmati Strikers and Karnavati Kings vs Narmada Navigators, setting the stage for a fortnight filled with spirited rivalries and intense cricketing action. Rajit Divetia will be the Match Referee for CPL. The CPL will culminate on June 14th 2025.
Narhari Amin, former GCA president and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), extended his support to the league’s vision. “I am happy to support passionate entrepreneurs like Ronak, Vansh, and Gorav who have created a platform like this to give opportunities to young, upcoming cricketers. Just like the IPL, I want this tournament to grow leaps and bounds and become one of the best leagues in India in the coming years. I am grateful to GCA’s Office-bearers and members for supporting this tournament, and the second season is slated to be bigger, better, and more entertaining. My best wishes to all the franchise owners. I am confident that all players will display true sportsmanship in this tournament,” he said.

He also recommended that future editions of the league must consider including under-14 and under-16 players, to give younger cricketers, an exposure to competitive play and help shape their early careers.
Playing games instils team spirit, competitive edge: Ronak Chiripal
Ronak Chiripal, Promoter, Chiripal Group & Co-founder – CPL, said, “CPL 2025 marks a powerful second chapter in a journey that began with a dream — to create a premier platform where Gujarat’s cricketing spirit could thrive, and genuine talent can get a platform. The overwhelming success of the inaugural season proved that hunger, heart, and talent are all here. Now, in its second season, the league returns stronger, bolder, and more determined to elevate homegrown stars onto the national stage. At Chiripal Foundation, we remain deeply committed to nurturing this movement — where every match is a celebration of passion, pride, and potential.”
“Each team will include three players representing the Baroda Cricket Association. However, only two players will be allowed to play in the match. All matches will be live telecast on a popular portal. We will render all possible help to the government in organising the Olympics 2036. Playing games instils team spirit, competitive edge and above all will equip one to face the life’s challenges with ease,” added Ronak Chiripal.
As the teams gear up for opening day, CPL 2025 is poised to be a celebration of cricket, camaraderie, and community, reaffirming its status as one of India’s most exciting domestic cricket properties.
Hitesh Patel, Former Secretary, GCA, “CPL will have Impact Player for each match. Younger players will also be given an opportunity if needed. Umpires, Official Scores and Video Analysis will be organised by Gujarat Cricket Association. All Outstation players and coaches will be hosted by Chiripal Group at the leading 5 Star Hotel.”
This tournament is conceptualised by Chiripal Group. CPL is organised in association with Amul Aava, Fancode, Revolt, SGVP Hospital, Swati Switches, Ador, Grew Solar, Shanti Asiatic School; Reliance Trends, Vadilal and Tikawoo.
