Shri Sankatmochan Mahavir Mandir at Rancharda, Ahmedabad, is set to mark another significant milestone in its journey of devotion and service with the grand inauguration of its third Ram Roti Seva Rath on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 6:45 pm. The initiative strengthens the temple’s ongoing commitment to feeding the needy while spreading the spiritual message of selfless service.

The temple already operates two Ram Roti Seva Raths, which distribute meals every morning and evening to underprivileged communities across various parts of Ahmedabad. With the addition of the third Rath, the reach of this divine service is set to expand further, ensuring that hunger is addressed with compassion and dignity.

Shri Sankatmochan Mahavir Mandir holds a unique spiritual significance. It is India’s fourth rare temple where Hanumanji is enshrined in a reclining posture. The temple’s special idol from Patal Lok offers simultaneous darshan of Hanumanji, his son Makardhwaj, Ahiravan, Shri Ram and Lakshmanji, a sight that deeply moves devotees who visit from far and wide every day.

Established through the infinite blessings of Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj, the temple conducts religious and social activities throughout the day. Every morning, around 300 school students collectively recite the Hanuman Chalisa, followed by the distribution of sweets and chocolates to young children, nurturing devotion and values from an early age.

The Ram Roti Seva Rath operates throughout the day, while the temple also regularly organises blanket distribution drives for the poor and needy. On special occasions and festivals, programmes include 21 recitations of the Hanuman Chalisa, kirtan, and “Baba ka Bhandara,” where all devotees receive meal prasad with love and reverence.

According to Praveen Garg, founder of Shri Sankatmochan Mahavir Mandir, the inauguration ceremony is open to all devotees. “On this occasion, we are not only celebrating a religious event but also spreading the message of service,” Garg said.

Special Features of the Temple
The temple celebrates festivals such as Hanuman Jayanti, Guru Purnima, Navratri, Raksha Bandhan, Ganesh Sthapana and Visarjan, Kali Chaudas Havan and Dussehra, with devotional bhajans, pooja and traditional offerings including fafda-jalebi. So far, 73 Sunderkand recitations have been conducted.

Through Baba’s grace, two Ram Roti Seva Raths currently serve 200–300 meals twice daily at multiple locations. Elderly persons, disabled children and visually impaired children are specially invited for group Sunderkand and Hanuman Chalisa recitations, while senior citizens receive special meal prasad and honour services.

On select days, Akhand Hanuman Chalisa and Ram Charit Manas recitations are organised. A morning havan on the first Tuesday of every month and Sunday Sunderkand, kirtan and aarti remain open to all devotees.

Adding to its humanitarian outreach, the temple conducts free medical check-ups and medicine distribution every Wednesday and Sunday, provides accommodation for sadhus and saints, and operates cold water stations for travellers.

As Shri Sankatmochan Mahavir Hanuman Mandir continues to grow in spiritual prominence, countless devotees arrive daily seeking the blessings of Hanumanji and Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj. Devotee Kiribhai Patel serves the temple selflessly, stepping forward for every need, big or small, inspiring others through his dedication.

Regular devotees including Kirti Bhai Patel, Bharat Bhai Joshi, Rahul Barot, Nirav Bhai Patel, Bharat Bhai Desai and Rishabh Bhai Shah continue to contribute with devotion, faith and a spirit of peace, reinforcing the temple’s role as a beacon of spirituality and service.
