Attractive, happy go lucky and with an attitude of being in it to win it – come meet ‘Mannphodganj ki Binny’. She prides herself on having a modern, progressive outlook but her swag, is desi and this series chronicles her big dreams and escapades to leave her small town. With the stay home – stay safe diktat, MX Player aims to add some laughter and brighten your days with this slice of life comedy that went live on the platform last Saturday. This dramedy is an adaptation of the book ‘Band Baaja Boys’ by Rachna Singh.
Playing the role of Binny Bajpai is Pranati Rai Prakash, an Indian fashion model and winner of India’s Next Top Model 2016. She was also a semi-finalist at Miss India 2015. Speaking about her character, she said, “What drew me to this character was the spirit of this young 21-year-old who values tradition, but is not bound by it – aspires to be a metropolitan woman but is still rooted and down to earth but overall, it’s her will to carve her destiny that resonated with me.”
The show is produced for Applause Entertainment by Tony and Deeya Singh’s – DJ’s A Creative Unit. This MX Original Series – Mannphodganj Ki Binny is directed by Vikas Chandra and tells the story of young, dreamy-eyed ‘Binny’ from the suburb of Mannphodganj in erstwhile Allahabad, now Prayagraj. She has one agenda and is on the lookout for her ticket out of this small town. But the best-laid plans often go astray, as do Binny. The 10 episodic series also boasts of an ensemble cast with Anurag Sinha, Aru Krishnank, Abhinav Anand, Samar Vermani, Alka Kaushal, Atul Srivastava, Kritika, Fahmaan Khan in key roles, the series is written by Amitosh Nagpal.
